Committee Members

The officers of the Association shall be a chairman, a secretary and a treasurer (collectively the “Officers”) who must all be members of the Association.

The committee (“Committee”) shall consist of the Officers and either two or four ordinary members elected at an AGM.

The Committee, voted at the AGM on 8 December, 2023, are as follows:

Chair – Mike Morrison

Mike is the CEO of KPMG in Bermuda and a Managing Director at the firm specializing in restructuring. Mike has 30 years of restructuring experience specializing in the financial services sector and also has considerable experience in the oil and gas, telecommunications and retail sectors. Mike often acts as a court appointed liquidator and as a receiver for secured lenders. Mike has considerable cross-border experience and has acted as liquidator in a number of other jurisdictions and as a foreign representative in numerous Chapter 15 cases before the US Bankruptcy Court. Mike has acted as an inspector for the Minister of Finance for Bermuda and for the Bermuda Monetary Authority. Mike also provides advice to reinsurance groups and specializes in providing advice to the insurance run-off sector.

Secretary – Nick Miles

Nick is the Head of the Corporate/Corporate Finance Division and a Partner of Kennedys, an independent Bermuda law firm. He has advised and represented companies, creditors, liquidators, provisional liquidators, investors and company directors in connection with a large number of non-contentious and contentious domestic and cross-border restructuring and insolvency matters. He is a ranked/recommended lawyer in the Chambers and Legal 500 legal directories.

Treasurer – Joseph Gordon

Joseph is the Head of Advisory at PwC in Bermuda. Joseph has over 18 years of restructuring experience in the UK and Bermuda. He acts as a liquidator for reinsurance companies, hedge funds, and local operating companies, many with assets located outside of the jurisdiction, and as a receiver for local banks. He has performed independent business reviews of debtor clients of financial institutions, and conducted forensic investigations on improper uses of funds for regulators, local and international businesses.

Kehinde George

Kehinde is Head of Insolvency and a founding partner of ASW Law. Kehinde has practiced in Bermuda since 1995, having previously practiced as a corporate/commercial lawyer for three years respectively at Turner Kenneth Brown and Stephenson Harwood in London, and for four years at the UK Department of Trade and Industry advising on insolvency law and policy. Her particular experience is in corporate restructuring and insolvency. She has advised liquidators, provisional liquidators, creditors and regulators in relation to numerous local and cross-border insolvencies and restructurings and schemes of arrangement.

Henry Tucker

Henry Tucker is the managing partner in Bermuda and leads Litigation, Insolvency & Restructuring. He delivers practical, cutting-edge advice and representation to lenders, boards, shareholders, private equity sponsors, and other stakeholders on issues like cross-border security, digital assets, restructuring, and valuation. Additionally, Henry advises on lending, M&A, and alternative investments.

He has been instrumental in developing Bermuda’s legal framework for multinational and listed companies, handling key cases on shareholder and creditor rights, enforcement of foreign judgments, and conflict of laws. Henry authored previous ISDA netting opinions for Bermuda and joined Harneys in 2023 after serving as a partner at an offshore firm in Hong Kong and Bermuda.

Henry is frequently engaged to create strategies for managing shareholder rights, including representing clients at contentious shareholder meetings. He is a top choice for insolvency practitioners and creditors in restructurings, utilizing Bermuda schemes alongside foreign proceedings like Chapter 11. Henry has played a significant role in cases involving international financial sanctions and has represented clients in regulatory enforcement actions by local financial authorities. He also focuses on non-contentious matters, particularly structuring Bermuda companies under the Digital Assets Business Act 2018.

A long-standing member of the Executive Committee of the Bermuda Chapter of INSOL International and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Henry contributes to key amendments of the Companies Act and related rules. He regularly writes for industry publications, including International Corporate Rescue and Chambers & Partners Global Practice Guide.

Ed Wilmott

Ed has over 16 years’ experience in the finance sector, specializing in insolvency and restructuring services since 2008. Ed has significant experience in dealing with captive insurance companies, investment funds, segregated account companies and reinsurers.

He has dealt with solvent and insolvent complex and contentious personal and corporate matters in multiple different industries including professional sports clubs, manufacturing, oil and gas, hospitality, and educational establishments. Ed also has considerable experience with cross border engagements, having been assigned to assist with complicated offshore trust and company structures. Ed is a member of the Restructuring and Insolvency Specialists Association and INSOL International.

Ed holds a Post Graduate Master’s Degree in International Business Management from Kent Business School. He is a member of the Association of Tax Technicians in the UK, a member of the Insolvency Practitioners Association (Insolvency Practitioner), and a Certified Fraud Examiner.

He is also a Fellow of the Insolvency Practitioners Association (FIPA).

Jennifer Haworth

Jennifer is the Head of the Dispute Resolution team and Director at MJM Limited. Jennifer advises liquidators, creditors, companies and investors on a number of restructuring and insolvency matters. Her practice also includes security enforcement, acting for receivers, banking and corporate/commercial litigation. She conducts advisory work as well as advocacy at all levels of the courts and before various tribunals. Jennifer is a ranked individual with both Chambers and Legal500 and a skilled negotiator, mediator, public speaker and public speaking coach.
